		<description>I share almost the exact same view as you do, with the addition that Facebook becomes somewhat of a popularity contest for many of its users who (in my opinion) inflict the responsibility of accepting or declining an invitation on someone who has just wants to keep friend in this list, not random people who have a distant connection to an acquaintance. I know of people who&#039;s pending list confirmed friends is longer than the list of &#039;real&#039; friends on their page...

In a related observation, I think its sad how some people live for Facebook attention. You know, those who go out to be seen and tagged in photos, who&#039;s last thought before going to sleep is what clever message to leave as their status or just sit there commenting on people pages or photos in the hope they will get a reply on their own walls and photos...
